Operator Role
Operator

While alive, the mafia can communicate in private chat during the day. Sided with the mafia.

About

The Operator is the mafia's communications expert. While the Operator is alive, the mafia can use their private chat during the day, giving them a significant coordination advantage. The Operator doesn't have any night actions, but their passive ability makes them an invaluable member of the mafia. Losing the Operator means losing the ability to privately strategize during the day when it matters most.

Common Strategies

The Operator's value is in staying alive as long as possible. Since you don't have a night action, focus entirely on blending in with the Village during the day. The longer you survive, the longer your team can coordinate privately during the day phase. Your teammates should protect you by not drawing attention to you and by having the Doctor-equivalent roles prioritize your safety. As the Operator, you are one of the most expendable members of the Mafia in terms of night actions, but one of the most valuable in terms of your passive ability. If the Village is getting close to identifying you, consider whether it's worth sacrificing yourself or if the Mafia can afford to lose day chat. If you're the last mafia member standing, day chat won't matter as much since there's no one to chat with.

Interactions

The Operator does not visit anyone at night, so they cannot be killed by Granny and are not seen by Creeper. The Operator can be investigated by Cops and will appear guilty. They can be voted out during the day like any other player. When the Operator dies, the mafia loses the ability to use private chat during the day phase.
