About

The Lawyer is a cunning member of the mafia who can intervene to save a player from being executed by the village during the day. Once per game, the Lawyer may choose a player at night to protect. If that player is voted out the following day, the Lawyer’s intervention prevents their execution, revealing that someone has been protected by legal counsel. The Lawyer’s ability can only be used once, so timing is crucial. The Lawyer cannot protect themselves and must choose wisely to maximize the impact for the mafia.

Common Strategies

As the Lawyer, your main goal is to disrupt the village’s plans and keep key mafia members or valuable allies alive. Use your protection to save a mafia teammate who is likely to be voted out. Coordinate with your team to anticipate when a vote is likely to succeed, and don’t waste your protection too early. Remember, you can only use your ability once, so patience and timing are everything.

Interactions

The Lawyer’s protection is announced when it prevents an execution, alerting all players that someone has been saved by legal means. The Lawyer cannot protect themselves and cannot use their ability more than once per game. The Lawyer’s visit is not seen by roles that detect visitors, and the protection only works against village execution, not night kills or other forms of elimination. If the Lawyer is eliminated before using their ability, the protection is lost for the rest of the game.
